Regional Heat Results 2015
We had 30 competitors across a range of categories competing to represent the West Region at the National Final of the Lifesaving Championships. The Regional Heat took place on 12th September 2015 at the University of Bristol swimming pool. I (Alan) wish to thank all those involved in helping organise and run the event – officials, helpers, runners and casualties.
The results have been validated and are now available online – there are no changes to the results announced on Saturday evening. Click here to download the West Region Championships 2015 results.
Those who finished first in each category qualify for the National Finals taking place at Ponds Forge, Sheffield on 31st October. Those who came second in each category will be named as substitutes, should the person/pair who has qualified cannot compete. The Team Manager, Imogen Jameson, will be in touch to make arrangements with the finalists.
Regional Heat Results 2014
Well done to all of the Championships and Guest competitors who competed at the Championships on 20th September 2014 at Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre, Bridgwater! Alan would like to thank all of those who helped on the day (officials, casualties, timekeepers)!The results have been validated and are now available online. There are three sets of results:
1. West Region Championship 2014 Results – These are the results for competitors taking part in the National Lifesaving Championships. These are the results used to determine who will represent the West Region at the National Finals in Sheffield in November.
2. Guest Results – These are the results of those competitors who were guests at the Championships.
3. Combined Results – These results combine the official Championships results and the Guests results together. This allows those who were competing as Guests to see how they compared to those in the Championships.
Regional Heat Results 2012
Congratulations to all those who competed at Kingswood Leisure Centre, Bristol on Saturday 15th September 2012!! It was amazing to see over 50 competitors demonstrating their lifesaving skills to a large audience of parents, friends and officials. The organisers wish to thank all those who helped make the day possible – casualties, officials, timekeepers, runners, scorers, centre staff and helpers!
The results have been thoroughly checked and we are pleased to announce that the results are now online – West Region Championships 2012 Results. Well done to all those who have progressed to the National Final! The scoring spreadsheet with individual markings for each casualty within the initiative tests is available to download here.
During the presentations, we announced that Paris Hazelton-Cavill and Hannah Palmer had been awarded fourth place. On checking of the results, it was found that they should have been awarded third place. Apologies to Paris and Hannah for the error and to Catherine Lang and Nia Taylour who are now awarded fourth place.

National Finals 2010
At the recent National Final of the Lifesaving Championships 2010, the West Region was well represented with a few of the sixteen competitors who qualified from the Regional Heat (details below) gaining medals! Silver medals were awarded to Lisa Johnston (30-39 Ladies Masters), Chris Stock (Individual Mens) and Geoff Williams (Male Masters 60+). The West also came joint third in the Regional SERC competition – well done to the team (Lisa Johnston, Chris Stock, Gavin Morrison and Lauren Mayor)!

National Club SERC 2010
The day before the National Finals, 3 teams from the West Region competed in the new Club SERC Competition. There were 2 teams, one junior and one senior, from Wells Lifesaving Club and a senior team from Bradford-on-Avon Lifesaving Club. The teams had a good day competing against others from around the country. The senior Wells team came 5th followed by the senior Bradford-on-Avon team in 9th. The junior Wells team did really well coming 4th – well done!

NLSC West Region Heat 2010
On Sunday 19th September, 40 competitors descended on the Monkton Combe Sports Centre to compete in the West Region Championships Heat for 2010. There were 26 competitors aged 17 or under and it was excellent to see so many people excited about the event.The organisers would like to thank all those who competed, judged, helped, volunteered and supported the event. A special thanks to The Mayor of Bath Councillor Shaun McGall for taking the time to watch some of the swim and tow heats and for presenting the medals, trophies and certificates to competitors. Thanks to Clive Holland (West Region Chairman) and his partner Rene for attending the event.
